Jeff and Audrey attend Jeff's company Christmas party where their ongoing debate of which one is of them is the more humorous and charming is put to the test. At the start of the party, it appears that Jeff is socially the stronger one, funny and charming while Audrey puts her foot in her mouth. She admits to Jeff that she is trying so hard because she is feeling a bit out of sorts with her recent unemployment. Audrey redeems herself when she starts making fun of Jeff behind his back while he attacks the buffet table and everyone finds it hilarious. Meanwhile, at the Dunbar Christmas party, Russell tries unsuccessfully to break Timmy and Adam's holiday spirit. Timmy is bummed that he and Alison have broken up and Russell suggests he lift his spirits as the greeter of the company office party, dressed up as an elf. Timmy, refusing to be humiliated, takes pride in his festive elf costume, spreading holiday cheer around the party and ultimately hooking up with the like-minded hot bartender. Adam has made a coupon book for Jennifer filled with little favors like hugs, massages, cuddles, etc however when Russell gets hold of the coupon book he puts one in all of his employees' stockings. However, after his coworkers start asking Adam to redeem their coupons, he finds he enjoys spreading holiday cheer amongst his coworkers and he is able to collect back all his coupons to give to Jennifer for Christmas. Back at the diner, Russell reveals his grinch-like behavior is the result of being left home with the nanny every Christmas as a child, and was trying to make his friends miserable like he has always been.
