It turns out not all publicity is good publicity; Hamptons Heritage, led by Dr. Blair, is fighting Jill's plan to have HankMed operate the new community clinic, and they're starting with a hatchet job in the local paper. While Jill and the HankMed team consider how best to respond, they continue to go about their business: helping sick people. They start with a 7-year-old boy with some mysterious recurring symptoms, who just so happens to be the son of Dr. Blair. Unfortunately Jake's unexplained illness isn't the only problem the kid is facing: his recently separated parents are feuding, and it's taking a toll on everyone - not least of all Jake.
As Paige and Evan's faux-relationship continues, Evan faces complications of his own. In his efforts to please Paige and impress her father, Evan accidentally signs himself up for an early-morning hunting expedition. There's really only one way for Evan + guns to end: badly.
