While grabbing coffee at his regular diner, Gibbs comes face-to-face with a teenager pointing a gun right at him. We freeze frame and flash cut to a series of images from Gibbs' past. Gibbs questions the decisions he's made in his life, and in a series of flashbacks, never before scenes, and 'what if' scenario's, he discovers what life would have been like had he made different choices. NCIS investigates the murder of a Petty Officer and a civilian aboard an out of commission Navy ship. They discover that our victims were part of a scheme to download secret information from the ship and sell it to the Chinese. Our killer, who happened to be a systems analyst, was supposed to help download the information but got cold feet and a gun fight ensued killing our two victims. Our teenager at the diner turns out to be the son of the analyst who wants Gibbs to help his father.
Does he pull the trigger?
