Victory is talking to Joe, who is in Chicago on business, while trying to manage the factory that has taken up residence in her kitchen and living room, thanks to her new investor. Wendy and Shane are enjoying a morning together before the kids have to go to school; Shane has to score the movie he's working on, and Wendy has to head into the office. Nico stops by Victory's and manages to plant some suspicions about her investor into her head. Victory changes the subject to Nico, who she suggests is looking extra radiant these days.

Wendy joins Victory and Nico and lets them in on a huge scoop she just got at Taylor's school. She overheard one of the parents discussing a prequel to the Harry Potter series that J.K. Rowling may be ready to sell. Wendy asks for silence on the matter until she figures out how and when to approach Hector. In a Bonfire meeting with Mike and Hector, Nico takes an opportunity to divulge the Harry Potter scoop before Wendy does. Meanwhile, Victory is meeting with her investor, who agrees to give her anything she needs, including a two-year lease on a studio space.

Wendy heads up to Hector's office and before she can say anything, he congratulates her on the Harry Potter scoop. Obviously shocked, Wendy asks Nico to head outside to discuss what just happened. Hector has asked for both of them to fly to Scotland to get the movie and publishing rights. Wendy, who is trying to be available for the kids with Shane working, doesn't think she can go on the trip and wishes Nico luck. Nico goes to Kirby's, where she asks him to join her in Scotland since Wendy isn't going.

At home, Wendy is telling Shane about Nico and the business trip to Scotland. Shane encourages Wendy to go on the trip despite their busy schedules. Wendy surprises Nico on the plane, telling her that Shane convinced her to go. Nico, shocked and uncomfortable, appears distant. Joe takes Victory to an auction house to view a painting he plans on purchasing. Victory continues to question her investor, but Joe reassures her that he is legit.

On the plane, Wendy is trying to have a conversation with Nico, who looks annoyed. The atmosphere is uncomfortable. Back at the auction, Victory mentions that she doesn't like sleeping where she works. Joe suggests she stay with him as a temporary solution to her problem, which she happily accepts.

After arriving in Scotland, Wendy asks Nico to have a drink, but she wants to head up to her room and make some calls. Back in New York, Victory arrives at Joe's, where his assistant Ellen shows Victory her newly renovated and fully stocked closet and room. In Scotland, Wendy has taken up residence at the bar hoping that Nico will come join her. While waiting, she meets a young American man also waiting for a friend. When Nico walks in they both realize they are waiting for the same person.

Nico enters the bar to see both Wendy and Kirby chatting. Wendy then puts all the pieces together, asking Nico if that was why she was weird on the flight over, because she'd asked Kirby to join her on the trip. Wendy is shocked that Nico is still seeing him. Back in New York, Joe joins Victory at the house. He makes it clear that her living there makes getting together easier, but staying in separate rooms is what he's offering.

Victory convinces Joe to be a bit spontaneous with his time, creating some sparks. In Scotland, Wendy, Nico and Kirby are sitting at the bar. Kirby tries to engage Wendy in conversation but she isn't very responsive. Taking advantage of an awkward moment, Wendy decides to head to her room for the night, leaving Nico and Kirby at the bar. Realizing the situation that has been created, Kirby suggests he head back to NY. Nico is apologetic.

Wendy is on a historical tour of the city when she calls Shane to check in on things back home. Victory walks into work and Roy lets her know that her investor has stopped by again. Victory takes advantage of the opportunity to toss out some truly outrageous ideas to see if he agrees to them, which he does.

Nico walks into Wendy's room to deliver the news that their meeting has been cancelled. Nico suggests that Wendy go to the school where her child attends and take the "mom-to-mom" approach. Wendy, offended by the suggestion, begins to get into it with Nico about Kirby. Wendy reminds Nico that she is also friends with Nico's husband Charles and can't support her decision to continue the affair with Kirby. In the heat of the argument, Wendy says that it's a good thing Nico isn't a mother because of the example she would be setting for her kids. Wendy, catching the severity of what she just said to Nico, turns around as Nico leaves her room.

Nico and Wendy are heading back to NY, sitting at opposite ends of the plane. Victory and Joe are getting ready for the art auction while Victory continues to question him about her investor. Before they leave, Joe shows her into his ballroom, where she'd previously suggested he could have people over to dance. Instead of people, he has hired a piano player and a singer just for the two of them.

Nico arrives back in New York to find Kirby outside her apartment building to greet her. Upset and exhausted, Nico asks him to leave, but Kirby insists on bringing her dinner, which she finally agrees to. Back home, Wendy is greeted by Shane who tells her that he booked another film while she was away! Victory and Joe arrive at the art auction. Joe bids and ultimately buys the painting for 50 million dollars. Victory, who thinks she's figured out who is behind her investor, is shocked when Joe tells her it was he who bought her company. She leaves the auction.

Joe is trying to explain his reasoning for purchasing her company behind her back. Victory, really upset, asks him to sell her company and tells him they are over. She won't have the man she's with owning her. Joe leaves, and Victory is heartbroken and feeling betrayed. Wendy fills Shane in on some of the details of the Scotland trip, but doesn't tell him everything.

Back at work, Nico opens a package from Kirby that he's signed "Your Friend, K." Leaving the office, Nico and Wendy run into each other on the sidewalk and have an awkward exchange, despite Wendy's apology for her comments in Scotland. They walk away, still unsettled.
