Redcorn confides in Hank that he's worried about Joseph and Dale's inability to raise him. Redcorn believes Joseph must go through a Vision Quest, a purification process to ready the body and mind to receive wisdom. An upset Redcorn doesn't want Joseph, straddling the line between good and bad, to mix with the wrong crowd.
Hank is determined to straighten out Joseph without letting Dale know the truth about Joseph's paternity. Hank takes the boys and Dale camping to provide a vision quest for Joseph, but during the trip, Dale becomes convinced that he's Indian and asks Redcorn to teach him the culture.
But in a typical Dale-like fashion, Dale misinterprets Redcorn's words and becomes a bad influence for Joseph. When Joseph attempts to spray paint a panda at the local zoo, Dale insists that they do the cool thing and kill the panda. Hank, Peggy, Nancy and Redcorn rush to the zoo to stop Joseph.
