Gabriel and the CyberCom team are brought in to help contain an outbreak of a deadly and quickly spreading virus in Texas where dozens of people have died already. When Gabriel cyber-renders ground zero of the outbreak to isolate who Patient Zero might be, he and the team are surprised to see that the suspect is a hardened criminal believed to have been executed a week ago. Gabriel and Riley are dispatched to Texas to find out what happened to Patient Zero and bring him back alive in order to make the antidote. Meanwhile, Cassidy and the team make the surprising discovery that the virus has been genetically engineered. Patient Zero, unaware that he is passing the virus onto unsuspecting victims, is on the run with Gabriel and Riley hot on his trail. They soon discover that Patient Zero was part of a covert US military program in which executed death row convicts were being used as human test subjects while their executions were being faked. CyberCom is racing against the clock to not only apprehend Patient Zero, but to also bring down the rogue US Army General in charge of this program.
