Intelligence Episode 1.05 The Rescue

When Mackenzie Forsythe, the daughter of a Senator from Arizona, and her collegiate friend Samantha are abducted from their college dorm, Lillian sends Gabriel and Riley to Arizona to hunt for clues to their whereabouts. Lillian's father, the powerful and secretive Leland Strand, originally brought her footage of the abduction, in which the kidnappers demand that Mackenzie's father kill a bill that would authorize the sale of a US spy satellite to the Mexican government. The man behind the plot, Hector Villareal, is one of Leland's former CIA assets turned head of the notorious Villareal drug cartel, and he threatens to kill both girls if law enforcement becomes involved.Gabriel and Riley quickly infer from the abduction site that the girls were taken to Mexico by Carlos Reyes, so they head south of the border to continue tracking him. While there, Hector gets wind that he has two federal agents on his trail, so he executes Reyes and nearly kills Samantha before Gabriel and Riley save her at the last possible moment. Leland agrees to give Hector the access codes to the satellites if he'll return Mackenzie to her father, but Hector double crosses them at the exchange point and kidnaps Riley as well. Using the chip and digital clues that Riley leaves for him, Gabriel manages to track both Riley and Mackenzie down and rescue them from the clutches of the cartel henchmen. Lillian orders Gabriel to let Hector go, only to have him assassinated in private later, before he can obtain the satellite codes.
