After Amanda narrowly avoided elimination in the previous episode, Chef Ramsay pulls her aside for a heart-to-heart. He tells her to bounce back and she knows this is her last chance. The red team, especially Tennille, is emotional, concerned, and downtrodden because they still haven't won a dinner service. The next day's low calorie challenge is to create three dishes (one appetizer, one entree, one dessert) that total 700 calories or less. The best tasting meal wins.

The blue team is way over their calorie limit at the first weigh in, and goes back to the drawing board, halving serving sizes. Meanwhile, the women are already cooking their meal. Both teams manage to come in under the calorie limit, but the girls win handily.

The red team wins the prize of taking convertible mini coopers to Venice Beach to play volleyball with an Olympian. Punishment for the blue team is an awkward, round, seven-person bicycle that they have to pedal to the store to pick up supplies for the night's dinner service. The bicycle is tough on everyone, but especially for Robert. Upon returning, the medic calls an ambulance to take him to the emergency room and Robert misses the dinner service.

The restaurant opens and, down a man, the blue team struggles from the start. Andy is not able to follow Chef Ramsay's orders, Jim's risotto is too peppery and he shows no emotion on the line. On the red side, Tennille has difficulty on the garnish station and Chef quite vocally lets her know about it. This builds to a confrontation where they both call each other "crap" and Tennille is kicked out of kitchen.

Chef Ramsay goes after her and they engage in a highly charged face-off. Chef Ramsay gives her a second chance and she grabs the lifeline and storms back into the kitchen, ready to cook. Sabrina has trouble carving a chicken and Andy is still struggling with the orders, sending out poorly cooked fish. When Sabrina sends out raw pork, Chef Ramsay calls her and Andy out, shutting down both kitchens.

There is no winning team after such a disastrous dinner service and Chef tells both teams to put someone up for elimination. Sabrina is nominated for elimination by the red team; and, after trying to throw Robert under the bus in his absence, Van offers up Andy for elimination. But Chef Ramsay has other ideas and, based on his utter lack of passion during dinner service, in a surprise turn of events, Jim is eliminated. Chef Ramsay tells him, "I can teach someone how to cook, but I can't give you a heart. You're not the tin man and I'm not the wizard of Oz."
