After another stressful elimination ceremony, the contestants return to the dorms as the men ponder how Dan sidestepped elimination once again. The next morning, Chef Ramsay brings them outside, where they discover a pen filled with live farm animals.

The contestants learn that members of each team will have to herd an animal into one of the cages, which has the name of a starch on top of it. After ten minutes, the final results will determine the protein and starch that each chef has to work with in the kitchen.

Nedra is the first up for the women, but her paralyzing fear of animals causes her to fall behind. The Blue Team charges, wrestles and manhandles their way across the finish line.

With just three minutes left on the clock, Nedra finally manages to get a turkey into the yam cage. As time runs down, the women successfully hustle to make sure each of them has a protein.

With their proteins determined, the chefs have 40 minutes to come up with an impressive dish. When time's up, Chef Ramsay informs the teams that they must choose five out of their seven dishes to present.

Chef Ramsay welcomes John Shook from Animal Restaurant in Los Angeles to judge with him. First up are Nedra and Ray in the battle of the turkey. Even though her turkey leg is a little undercooked, the women earn the point. Next, Susan's duck breast wins out over Anthony's version.

Zach's lamb is deemed better than Mary's, and the men get on the board. Amanda's dry pork doesn't hold up against Barret's, and the Blue Team ties the score. It's down to the final dish, and Ja'Nel's melt-in-your-mouth goat wins the competition for the women over Michael's tough rib.

As a reward, the women get to spend the day as VIP guests at the Aquarium of the Pacific. The Blue Team must prepare for family night by putting together a petting zoo.

That night before dinner service, Chef Ramsay informs the Blue Team that they will be preparing food for his own children. For the special event, Hell's Kitchen will feature a kids' menu along with the usual fare.

Once again the Blue Team gets off to a rocky start, bringing Dan's burnt pizza to the pass. While the men ready their refires, Jacqueline falls behind cooking scallops in the Red Kitchen.

Both teams quickly bounce back. In the Blue Kitchen it's time for the men to cook for Chef Ramsay's family, but Ray's stone-cold burger is angrily rejected.

Meanwhile, the Red Team has completed their appetizers and kids' meals. Now it's up to Mary on meat and Jacqueline on fish to really deliver with entrees. While Mary impresses Chef Ramsay with her beef Wellington, Barret struggles with both lamb and chicken.

When the women finish ahead of the men, Chef Ramsay sends them into the Blue Kitchen to help them finish service. After Barret delivers raw chicken that is meant for Sous Chef James's pregnant wife, the Red Team is told to take over.

At the end of the night, the women are declared the winners. The men choose Barret and Dan for elimination. And, in the end, Dan is told to leave Hell's Kitchen.
