The Story

In a continuation of last week's episode, after a disastrous dinner service, Chef Ramsay summons Ray and Dan from the Blue Team and Mary and Nedra from the Red Team and asks for their jackets. He puts all four of them on probation and informs them they must earn their jackets back by the end of the next dinner service or they will be sent home.

The following morning, Chef Ramsay introduces the next challenge - the contestants are asked to create their version of six classic Chinese dishes. They are presented with giant fortune cookies, which contain the names of the ingredients to use in the dishes. They will have three minutes to gather five ingredients for each of their six dishes. It's up to Dan and Ray for the Blue Team and Ja'Nel and Jacqueline for the Red Team to make sure the right combination of ingredients is selected for each dish. When the three minutes are up, both teams have 40 minutes to use the chosen ingredients to create six stunning dishes - dumplings, fried rice, soup, chow mein, spring rolls and stir-fry.

Master Chef Martin Yan is brought in to judge the dishes with Chef Ramsay. The women get the point for the fried rice round, but Chefs Yan and Ramsay prefer the Blue Team's stir-fry, tying the score. In round three they also like the men's spring roll, allowing the Blue Team to take the lead. When the dumplings come to the table, the women once again come out on top. Both teams get a point for their soups, so the chow mein will be the deciding point. Chef Yan picks the men's noodle dish, determining they will win the challenge.

Both Dan and Ray earn back their chef's jackets and are off probation. As a reward, the men go out to play a stress-relieving game of paintball, while the women are left behind to prep for dinner service, including making the labor-intensive pot stickers and dumplings.

Before the doors to Hell's Kitchen open, Chef Ramsay informs them that "Entourage" actor Rex Lee will be gracing the Chef's Table in the Blue Kitchen, while the women will be cooking for "Hairspray" director Adam Shankman. He also reminds Nedra and Mary that they need to prove they are worthy of winning back their jackets.

In addition to the classic Hell's Kitchen menu, Chef Ramsay has added a tableside dim sum cart, which will be looked after by Ja'Nel in the Red Dining Room and Ray on the Blue side. When the kitchen opens, Nedra immediately delivers a delicious risotto and wins back her jacket.

Even though the Blue Kitchen is in total sync on apps, Ray falls behind on the dim sum cart in the dining room, so the apps need to be refired. As the Red Team wraps up their appetizers, Mary gets her chef's jacket back.

Meanwhile, when the men move on to main courses, Barret brings raw shrimp to the pass. In the Red Kitchen, Susan is having difficulty getting lamb prepared for the VIP table, and Jessica is overcooking her fish. In the Blue Kitchen, the men finally serve their special guests, but the Red Team's diners are still waiting.

As both kitchens close in on their final tickets, Jessica brings raw halibut to the pass, and Barret leaves the paper on the fish when he cooks it. Both teams finally deliver properly prepared fish, and dinner service is finally over.

With the hectic service completed, Chef Ramsay states the night was filled with ridiculous error and declares both teams to be losers. Each kitchen must nominate two chefs for elimination. The women choose Jessica and Susan, while the men vote out Dan and Ray. Chef Ramsay calls all four chefs forward but ultimately decides to send Jessica home for her miserable performance on the fish station.
