It's Mardi Gras, and all the world's aswirl with preparation. Especially the KTs, who are having a massive party. It's hard for Casey, who's just about to take the LSAT, because Cappie just wants to play, but all she can do is stress. It gets worse when she finds his major declaration form and it's blank. He's not moving ahead at all! He even lied about it! Seems the only person in her life who understands is Joel from the campaign, who keeps turning up -- first with helpful pre-LSAT advice, and then with a helpful post-LSAT bottle of Scotch. She really ought to go to the KT party, but... they end up on a park bench, chatting and drinking. She's really into him but, just as he's about to go in for a kiss, she confesses that she has a BF. He apologizes but, before he leaves asks why she'd spend a whole evening with another guy and never mention her boyfriend. Hmm. Rusty wants to take Katherine to the KT party, but Cap says she's too prim. Then she informs Rusty that she plans to lose her virginity. To him. That night. He's shocked -- they haven't even kissed! -- but she's decided it's time. Cap's all for it, but Casey's horrified. Rusty's torn. Dana, his nerd-cute lab assistant, invites herself to the party as Dale's date. She doesn't like Dale -- it's just so she can hang with Rusty. At the party, he tells her about Katherine's plan, and Dana's disgusted with Rusty for being "that guy." She also tells him she's always liked him, and that he's pretty dumb for a smart guy if he couldn't see that. She storms out, leaving Rusty with a lot to think about. Grant tells Calvin they're going to the local gay bar to have an out Mardi Gras. And BTW, they offered him $500 to bartend. Hey, thinks Cal: Evan needs $500 to get his PC out of hock (he pawned it to repay the cash fund for Rebecca's necklace). Evan tells Bex he has to work a medical dinner and heads off to bartend at Gentlemen's Choice. But guess where Ashleigh and Rebecca go when they get sick of KTs asking them to flash for beads? The same gay bar. Just as Evan's about to play a masked game with Bex, he sees her sucking face with a masked stranger. Stunned, he takes off his own mask and confronts her. Outside, she tells him she doesn't want to be exclusive. And she hasn't been. He's crushed. He calls her heartless and walks away. Ouch. A litter later, in Katherine's room, Rusty decides this highly planned sexual "transaction" is not for him. He's not a "bad boy." He excuses himself, leaving a disappointed, surprised Katherine sitting alone on her bed. And Casey shows up at the trashed, mostly empty KT house just in time for... nothing. After a smokin' party, Cap's sitting alone. She asks why he lied about filling out his major form. She also confesses that she was so bent out of shape about it, she almost kissed another guy that night. When he sayd he may never be ready to graduate, that's just too much for her. Casey goes off to sleep alone at ZBZ. Happy Mardi Grass, y'all!
