Winter Break is over, and the ZBZ house is on fire with guilt over the Gamma Psi house they may have burned down. stress eating and denial take over as Casey tries to keep her sisters from losing it. But she's not doing any better herself. Cappie stops in and surprises her with flowers (plucked from the ZBZ front lawn). Looks like things are awesome. But when Ashleigh gets in and sees the flowers, she tells Casey to be prepared, because Cappie's not the long-haul guy. Ash might be slightly biased, though; she and Fisher broke up during the break. Casey visits Katherine in her temporary dorm room to voice her supports (but mostly to see how the investigation is coming). Katheine says they haven't found anything yet, but IFC and Panhellenic are throwing a fairy-tale fundraiser for her house. Casey promises her the full support of ZBZ. The guilt! It burns! A hot fireman drops by ZBZ with some safety pamphlets during a house meeting, and Casey asks how the investigation is going. It's over, he says. The fire started with a candle in the living room. Uh-oh! The minute he leaves, the girls FREAK out. Ashleigh asks Casey what to do. Casey what to do. casey says they should go to the party as planned. No one knows it was them, and the pact is still the pact. It's obvious she's not very convinced. She and Cappie go shopping for fairy-tale costumes, but she's still distracted. He tries to get her to talk, but she cant -- the pact! He thinks it's about him, and she's too lost in her thoughts to notice. Then, when Casey's helping decorate the fairy-tale ball and Cappie shows up 45 minutes late, they squabble -- all because neither will admit what's really going on their heads. Cappie asks if she even wants him to go to the ball, and she's like, whatever. Evan runs into Rebecca. They exchange post hookup pleasantries, but they aren't sure where they stand anymore. Rebecca plays it cool. They're friends, right? Riiiight. Calvin's psyched, because Grant was planning to come out to his family over the holidays -- and coming out to the house is next. But when Grant gets back, he's still in the closet. Calvin decides to break up with him and crash on Rusty's couch till another room in the house opens up. In KT land, Rusty gets Cappie to make him pledges Educator -- which used to be Wade's job (till he was expelled, along with Jeremy and Ferret). Cappie halfheartedly agress. He's still bummed about Evan's betrayal and losing his brothers. But when Rusty tries to take over the PE duties in a kinda bookish, not-so-fun way, cappie keeps undermining him. After the third time, Rusty realizes it's not really about him; it's more about Cappie missing his brothers. Still stoked from his pre-break battlebot victory, and sure he'll win the coveted Wyatt grant, Dale's found a couple of freshman interns. They worship him! Things are still a little tense over the grant, but when Rusty sees how Dale manages his minions, he asks for help with the next pledge meeting. Dale soon has the pledges scared straight (good), but then Rusty accidentally cuts one of their toes with Wade's cleaver (bad). When he tries to make the pledges go to the ball, Cappie says they don't have to. Rusty yells at him for not to backing him up, and Cappie takes it to heart. The pledges finally fall in line. As the ZBZ's prep for the ball, they're more worried about what they'll be wearing in prison after they're caught. Casey reminds everyone that there's no evidence against them -- except, oops, there is. Ashleigh still has Katherine's clipboard! Casey decides they'll bury it in the woods on the way to the ball. After the deed is done and the girls are trying to get unlost in the woods, Ashleigh admits she may have been a little harsh about Cappie. Turns out she and Fisher broke up because he cheated on her AGAIN on New Year's. Ouch. Cappie's waiting for Casey in full Prince Charming gear at the ball. So hot! She finally tells him all about the fire. He's surprised and sort of impressed at the magnitude of her mischief. He tells her about his house blues. They kiss and make up. Awww. Calvin is shocked and delighted when Grant asks him to dance at the ball in front of the brothers and everyone. They do, and, as jaws drop, Evan gets the rest of the brothers onto the floor in a show of solidarity. Calvin's dancing on air as Grant lays a romantic kiss on him. Evil Queen Rebecca runs into Big Bad Wolf Evan (talking costumes here), who leads her in a very romantic slow dance. But just as they're about to kiss, Evan sees Casey and Cappie across the floor, and the moment is ruined. Rebecca rushes off before he can explain. Later, back at the KT house, Cappie finds that Rusty and the pledges have turned Wade's room into a shrine to their departed brothers. He's touched and apologizes to Rusty for second-guessing him. Back at Rusty and Dale's apartment, there's voicemail. Rusty won the grant! Dale tries as hard to be a good loser as Rusty tries to conceal his glee. The next day, post-ball, Grant and Calvin wake up to find a pair of tiaras on their doorstep. Calvin thinks it's just a little joke, but Grant isn't so sure -- about the joke or about coming out. Looks like fairy-tale endings aren't all they're cracked up to be.
