Bella reconnects with Jake Turner, a formerly lazy homebody turned fitness buff, who she dated during grad school in New York City. While they were dating, all Jake ever wanted to do was watch movies and order take out, but now Jake constantly has strenuous activities planned for his dates with Bella. While the activity dates are fun at first, they become more and more exhausting for Bella, who begins to wonder if Jake simply sees her as a friend. After Bella asks that question those fears are quickly put to bed, but then another problem arises – Jake simply can not stop talking about his ex-girlfriend. It becomes obvious to Bella that Jake is clearly not over his ex, and that he compensates by keeping so active. She confronts him about this, and he attempts to show Bella he can put his past behind him.
