Doctors Monroe, Draper and -GD's Infant Development experts - compete viciously for funding and favor at her baby shower. Dr. Monroe's new baby monitor puts the mother into biorhythmic sync with her child; Draper's diapers absorb vast amounts of liquid, and Bell's self-sanitizing bottles compress fluids for purity and efficiency. Carter wonders if one of them is capable of murder when Dr. Monroe is found drowned in her car, on a dry road. He would prefer having Henry help solve the mystery but settles for Fargo while Henry deals with accessing the data in organic computer "Kim". Fargo's first suspect is Dr. Draper but when she drowns in Cafe Diem, he finds himself at a dead end - literally. Carter begins experiencing odd symptoms as he continues the hunt. Both victims were at the baby shower. So was he. He turns to the aptly named Dr. Rivers, who has created synthetic water for use at GD, in hopes of finding an answer. The synthetic H20 is 100 percent pure so Dr. Rivers says it could not cause people to drown from within. Then Dr. Bell narrowly escapes drowning. What else besides the water did they all have in common?
While Carter investigates the drownings, Tess and Allison welcome Dr. Bruce Manlius, who plans to download Kim's data. Carter finds Manlius' ego, not to mention his flirting with Tess, unsettling. Henry finds the doctor's plans to subject "Kim" to a radiation download deeply concerning, but Kim tells him it may be the only way to complete their mission. With Kim's download underway, Tess shows signs of drowning and a frantic Carter finds the link, summoning Henry, Manlius and Rivers to help him save her before time runs out.
