Morris and Sam were doing a routine on a check up that was anything but normal. The patient was not cooperative and insisted he had the simple flu and needed antibiotics. He became irritable and almost violent when Morris insisted he still needed to run tests as part of his exam.

After their babysitter cancelled on them, again, Kovac and Abby thought it was time to hire a nanny. They conducted several interviews while at work. None of the prospects seemed to pan out.

Morris got news that Weaver was offered a job by the news station to be a medical reporter. Morris was surprised when Weaver told him she turned down the job and considered the whole offer a bunch of fluff. She later changed her mind and took the job.

During a hospital board meeting, Gates gave a presentation about one of his patients. While he was speaking, Kate informed Neela that she heard Gates was living with a woman and even had a child with her. Neela was surprised to hear the news. After hearing the news, Neela began to challenge and argue with Gates in front of all of his peers.

Morris was dealing with an erratic patient who had punched a man in the face earlier. Once Morris was able to clear the blood from the man's face, he realized it was his difficult patient from earlier. The man had no memory of being in the ER earlier.

Kovac was saying his good-byes to Abby and Joe outside the hospital. It was unbeknownst to Kovac, but Curtis Ames was across the street spying on him and his family from a nearby diner. Later, Abby ran into Curtis at the nearby park, where he introduced himself with a false name, so she would have no idea who he really was.

Neela and Gates argued after the meeting, but then their passion took over. Neela grabbed Gates and the two began to kiss and he hoisted her up on to a table. What the two didn't know, was that Ray was watching it all through the window. Later on, Ray retaliated by asking Kate out on a date in front of Neela.

Morris looked into his patient's history and discovered his name was Willis Peyton and he had been in and out of emergency rooms all of his life, mostly due to his abusive childhood. He was still denying any surgery when it came to his heart. Sam told him that he either should go with the procedure, or he would die. She assured him he was in a safe place.

Willis violently told Sam that he was going to refuse any procedures. Then all of a sudden, he became calm and told Sam that he knew his alter ego Clyde could be violent and now he was back to being Willis. Sam provoked Willis on purpose so she would get his alter ego to agree to the procedure.

Morris went to check in on Willis to make sure he was still ready for the procedure on his heart. He began to act like a little boy and introduced himself as Andre. Morris began to fill sorry for Willis and understand his condition of multiple personalities. Morris promised the childlike Willis that he wouldn't leave his side all night.
