ER Episode 12.12 Split Decisions

Victor doesn't show up for work and Lucien offers to fill in for him as the chief attending physician. Kerry sees Ray walking the floor and wants to know why he's there. "Didn't you quit?" she asks. Ray pretends to not know what she's talking about and continues to do his rounds. She's quietly glad he's there to stay.

Lucien congratulates Neela, telling her she's been accepted into the surgical elective. Zoe visits Ray again at the hospital. He starts to yell at her until he sees her face has been busted open. He treats her and finds out that there's no permanent damage, but she broke her ulna. Zoe tries to tell him she fell, but Ray doesn't believe her. She finally tells him that it's her father who beat her.

Greg yells at Archie for abusing the interns as his own personal assistants. Archie asks him for advice. He has a date with a girl he met online. She's black and he wants Greg to help him.

Ray finds out that Zoe ran away from home, but when her father found her, he beat her. Her father used to beat her sister too, and now she lives in San Francisco. Ray wants to call the police but Zoe is scared and thinks he'll come looking for her. She asks Ray if she can move in with him.

Abby is restless in bed with Luka. She tells him she can't sleep because she keeps thinking about "stuff." Abby doesn't want to tell anyone about them for at least a couple of weeks. She wants to go shopping for all things baby. She's driving Luka crazy going all over town looking for stuff, but he's also getting excited about them starting a family together.

The cops and social services come to visit Zoe. They tell Ray that if he can't find someone to take her, she's going to a foster home. The cops are also on their way to arrest her father.

The cops bring Darnell into the ER and ask Greg to test his blood alcohol levels. He was caught drunk driving and wants Greg to help bail him out. Greg asks Archie if he's seen K.J. around because he doesn't want him to see his father in the ER. Greg tells the cop he just wants to make sure K.J. doesn't see him. Greg then draws his own blood to make up for Darnell's.

Michael brings Neela to a VA hospital to see a friend of his from the war. His friend is in a wheelchair but still wants to go back to Iraq. He wants Mike to talk to someone and pull strings so he can go back. Michael is really affected by seeing the soldiers and he tells Neela he also wants to go back to Iraq. He says the soldiers need him more than she does.

Archie still wants Greg's help with his date. He tells Greg that this is hard for him because he has four nipples. His date shows up at the hospital and he tells her about his extra nipples. She doesn't mind because she has six toes on her left foot.

Ray gets Zoe a flight to San Francisco. He takes her keys and says he'll ship her stuff to her sister's house. Her father shows up at the last second but Ray kicks his ass and she gets away.

Neela and Michael discuss his desire to go back to Iraq. He says his life has clarity over there. She doesn't want to be abandoned. She says she'll go with him to Iraq but he won't let her. Michael says he can't stay at home knowing that there's a war going on and if she loved him, she would understand that. Neela counters that she does love him, but she doesn't know him.
