Ali delivers the news that all the players will be packing their bags and returning home for an entire week. Now is the chance for each of them to show their families and friends what they have accomplished so far on the ranch.

The players become emotional when they return home to see all of their loved ones. They can't wait to share with everybody how much weight they have lost. Meanwhile, their friends and family cannot believe how much progress has been made in just nine weeks.

All the players are celebrating their homecoming, but are also quickly reminded that they are still in the middle of a competition. Each player is delivered a special cargo box from the show. They have no idea what is waiting for them inside the box.

The players each open up their cargo box and discover stationary bikes. They also discover a smaller box that contains a lot of cupcakes. Each feels nauseous just looking at the box of sweets. There is also a DVD that they have to watch, featuring a message from Ali.

Ali tells everyone they have a challenge this week. They will be riding for 26.2 miles on their new stationary bikes in front of all their loved ones. The player with the best time wins $10,000. The catch is that for each 100-calorie cupcake a player consumes, they can add five minutes to another players' time.

Melissa encourages Lance to eat cupcakes in order to win the competition. Michael and Andrea each eat their fair share of cupcakes, as well. Meanwhile, Sam, Koli, Stephanie, Daris, and Sunshine vow to win the challenge fair and square, without giving in to temptation.

The players notice a difference working out with Bob and Jillian and having to go to the gym and motivate on their own. Sam and Koli notice how easy it is to be distracted by the surroundings of a gym, while Stephanie takes advantage of having her mother by her side to help motivate her.

Sam wakes up to the smell of bacon and biscuits at his mother's house. He explains that this food is no longer part of his diet and that's how he got so heavy in the first place. He offers to take his mother shopping to show her healthy alternatives to everyday ingredients.

Daris feels extra confident since returning home. This includes asking out his friend Randi on a date. Daris even faces alcohol temptations at the bar but finds he's happy with water. Daris no longer needs liquid courage to sing karaoke and Randi loves his new attitude.

The next morning, crowds gather to watch each player participate in their biking challenge. As they peddle their stationary bikes, their loved ones call to hear about updates of other players who are participating in the same challenge in their hometown.

Sam is the first to finish the 26.2 miles. Once he hops off the bike, he cheers on his cousin, along with all of their family and friends. After each player's race comes to an end, they become emotional about participating in the challenge in their hometown, in front of people they know.

After everybody completes their bike challenge, Ali tells them it is now time to see who had the best time, after tallying up the minutes other players' might have placed against them during the temptation challenge. In the end, nobody added minutes to Koli's time and he wins the $10,000.

The players return to the ranch and are happy to see their trainers and be reunited with each other. Bob and Jillian are pleased that the players are so happy to see them, but now it is time to participate in the last-chance workout.

Everyone gathers around for the weigh-in. The Blue Team is feeling good because they have won the last two. After the weigh-in, the Blue Team's total weight loss is 2.58% and the Black Team's total is 3.86%.

The Blue Team has to face the difficult decision of whom to eliminate this week. In the end, Lance receives the most votes and is sent home. He gives a tearful goodbye to all of his teammates and acknowledges how much he has learned in such a short time.
