The final four players, Rudy, Danny, Liz, and Amanda are all on their way to their hometowns, where they will be for the next 60 days. Ali reminds them they will be facing the same temptations that made them obese in the first place. The players are just excited to see their families again.

Danny is so happy to see his family and friends. But, he has one more surprise for everybody. He proposes to his wife all over again and asks her to renew their vows. She accepts his offer with a big kiss.

The finalists are each having to adjust to fitting in workouts while living their day-to-day lives. Each player turns to their family and friends to help deal with their feelings and asks them for the support they need to live this new and healthy life.

Liz finds the time to have a heart-to-heart talk with her husband. She acknowledges the two were having marital problems before she left for the show and now reveals she desperately wants to work things out. Because being on the ranch taught Liz about not giving up.

The next morning, the players are surprised to see gift boxes from the show waiting on their front doorsteps. They pop in the video that's inside each box and see Bob and Jillian with a message. The trainers remind the players what they came to the ranch looking like and feeling like, and encourage the players to remember the changes they made on the ranch.

After the finalists watch their videos from Bob and Jillian, they receive phone calls from their trainers. Bob and Jillian tell each player that it is time to prepare for the rite of passage that last season's finalists had to go through. The players are mystified as to what the trainers are talking about.

The trainers inform each player that they are going to be training for a full marathon. Everyone is shocked with the task that's been put in front of them. They promise the trainers they will pull off this one final challenge.

Danny is shocked to see Biggest Loser chef Curtis Stone at his door. Curtis can't wait to show Danny and his family how to cook a healthy dinner, and how easy and fun a meal packed with vegetables can be to prepare.

Jillian and Bob decide it's time to meet with the players at their homes. When the trainers show up, they are met with a giant hug from each player they're visiting. Jillian is a little concerned for Liz, since she lives in such isolation. But, Liz assures Jillian that she remains devoted to driving into town to work out.

Jillian takes the time to talk to Danny's family about adjusting to life while being back home. Danny's wife admits that she's trying to change herself for Danny since his return home, but she's having a hard time. Jillian encourages both Danny and his wife to search inside to make that change and not depend on each other to do it.

Now that the players have had inspirational visits from their trainers, they are feeling more motivated than ever. That includes realizing they have a marathon to train for, so they hit the ground running each morning.

Weeks later, Rudy, Amanda, Danny, and Liz meet again at their marathon starting line. Each player is feeling confident they can complete the race. Ali tells them they will be running through farmland, hiking trails and hills, and ending at the Pacific coastline. Ali tells the players that each one of them who finishes the race will get $10,000 to go to the charity of their choice.

Danny and Liz start the race together and encourage one another throughout the miles. Last season's finalist, Tara, joins the two in their marathon. Danny and Liz tell Tara how much she inspired them last season. Meanwhile, Dina joins her former partner Rudy for the last part of his marathon.

Danny is beginning to experience aches and pains and doesn't know how much longer he can continue the race. Amanda has a breakdown of emotions, but Tara joins her and her best friend Brian and gives Amanda words of support. Meanwhile, Bob joins Rudy and Dina to push Rudy in his final miles. Rudy is the first to complete the marathon and last season's finalists Mike and Helen are there to greet him. Danny and Liz finish together.

The players each weigh in and each one of them has lost weight. But, in the end, it's Liz and Amanda who have fallen below the yellow line. Liz and Amanda make a plea to America to vote for them to be the third finalist in the finale. Fans can vote, but have to wait until next week's live finale to see who will be joining Danny and Rudy as finalist number three.
