It's early in the morning when Alison gathers the troops outside near what looks like a construction site. The first order of business - Buddy has gone home, since his wife is due to give birth any minute! But that's no excuse for not losing weight this week. He'll be back for the weigh-in and his weight will count. One of the excuses often heard on The Biggest Loser is, "I don't have a gym membership." So can you lose weight without a gym? The contestants are about to find out. The team that wins this challenge will have access to the gym all week, but the losing team will not. The contestants are staring down an obstacle course comprised of a series of doors. In front of each door is a trivia question. They will use a battering ram to break down the door that corresponds to the answer to their question. The finish line is a series of double doors; the first team to get everyone through, wins. Since Buddy's at home, the Black Team chooses Gail to sit out, and Nancy will compete in her first challenge.

The teams don hard hats, pick up their battering rams - which are quite heavy - and start battering, only to find knee-deep mud on the other side of the door corresponding to the wrong answer. The Red Team takes an early lead, while the Black Team gets stuck in the mud on their first two questions - which turns into all five! The Red Team wins, which means the gym is off limits for the Black Team. With one week until judgment day, Dolvett makes a surprise visit to the Aqua Team at their Chicago gym. Dolvett introduces them to a device he uses on the ranch, The Biggest Loser Slim Coach, which will track their progress. But Dolvett didn't travel to Chicago to talk - he came to work out!

Back on the ranch, it's early in the morning, and Chris kicks the cameras out of her bedroom, then hides in the bathroom. When Ray checks in on her, the cameras still haven't left, and she refuses to leave the bathroom. Chris is having a bad day, and she doesn't want to be on the ranch anymore. Ray tries to talk her out of leaving, but Chris insists she just wants to be left alone. Ray's feelings are hurt, and the rest of the contestants aren't sure what course of action to take. Luckily, Bob's on hand, and Chris agrees to talk to him. She's overwhelmed by too much baloney in the house, and she's over it. Chris is used to being invisible, which she's been for over 40 years - and being invisible is impossible on the ranch. Bob reminds her that what she's feeling is normal, and she can handle it. He needs her to be all in. Chris warns she's a pretty messed up person, but Bob doesn't care. He's messed up too. Chris promises not to give up on herself and gets back to work.

The weather has turned cold on the ranch, and it's particularly cold at 7:30 in the a.m. when Bob starts the Black Team's no-gym workout. He can only imagine how happy Dolvett and the Red Team are, having the gym to themselves. Nevertheless, Bob is determined to show America that you can lose weight with no gym. Bob's biggest challenge is Gail, who he claims may be the death of him this season. She slows down when he asks her to speed up, and she cries at the drop of a hat. Dolvett focuses on Conda, who's giving him attitude and disrupting the focus of the team. Ultimately, Dolvett kicks an eye-rolling and disrespectful Conda out of the gym, slamming the door behind her.

Outside the gym, Conda tells producers that she doesn't want to talk about what happened, then tells them Dolvett pushes her button every day. And she wasn't disrespecting him. She doesn't want to talk to Dolvett, but she has no choice when he comes outside to sit her down on the steps. Does she think he wants to help someone who is clearly so disrespectful? She's not taking her condition seriously, and that pisses him off. She hasn't committed - and the second she does, her attitude will change. Dolvett thinks Conda doesn't want to be on the ranch, so she better ask herself why. Conda admits she doesn't know what she wants, and Dolvett advises her to figure it out. He can't help someone who doesn't want to help herself. Conda knows she has to go back into the gym. She apologizes to Dolvett, who reminds her that her team needs her, and her attitude has to change. They seal the deal with a hug.

After a long week, it's time for the weigh-in, and Alison welcomes Buddy back to the show. Congratulations are in order - he and his wife have a new baby, Levi Martin! The Black Team will weigh in first, starting with Emily. She has her best week yet, losing nine pounds at .47%. Chism loses 12; Cassandra takes off six; and Jeremy is 11 pounds lighter. Gail is disappointed with her five-pound loss. Bob warns her she has to start pulling the big numbers, and she promises to give 100%. Chris knows her team perceives her bad day as a weakness, even though it was really a breakthrough. She's thrilled to make her goal of seven pounds, and Bob reminds her she's exactly where she needs to be. The last Black Team member to weigh in is Megan, who only loses two pounds. Disappointed, she cries. Bob backs her up - he knows everything she did this week, and the number pisses him off too. The Black Team has lost a total of 52 pounds at 2.72%.

Buddy is the first Red Team member to weigh in, and he's wondering whether he did enough. His best week ever is topped off with a 10-pound loss. Ray and Kimmy both lose six pounds; Mark pulls an 11; Kim is minus 10; Nancy loses five. Conda's last to weigh in, and she'll have to lose more than two pounds for Red to win. Knowing she had a bad week with Dolvett, she's nervous, but she has a great 10-pound loss. Now Bob's the one to roll his eyes. Dolvett admits Conda may be the most stubborn person he's ever trained, but at least she's beginning to work through it. Dolvett runs up on the scale to hug Conda. The Red Team's total for the week is 58 pounds at 3.19%. Now the Black Team will have to send someone home, but not Emily, because she's the team's Biggest Loser. Nevertheless, Alison thinks they've proved that anyone can successfully lose weight without a gym.

In the Elimination Room, Megan cries, voting for Gail. Chism votes for Chris, who promises she really does want to stay on the ranch. Thinking of the strength of the team, Cassandra votes for Gail. Claiming they can't have any more team members quit, Jeremy votes for Chris, who votes for Gail, then Gail votes for Chris. Now both Chris and Gail have three votes, so it all comes down to Emily. She cries, hating this position, but she votes for Gail, confident that she'll continue her journey at home. Even though Gail would have liked to stay on the ranch for a long time, she's happy to continue her journey at home with her daughter Lauren.
