Eddie takes credit for a bouquet of flowers that Joy receives, even though they were delivered to the wrong home. They were intended for an elderly man recently passed away and who was beloved by the whole neighborhood.
Jeff is asked to be a pallbearer at the funeral and Steph composes a speech in the man's honor. Meanwhile, Joy is a little insulted that she and Eddie weren't invited. When the widow stops by to drop off mail, she and Joy strike up a conversation and Joy is invited to sing at the funeral.
Feeling left out, Eddie tries to make nice with the widow but he's miffed when she doesn't ask him to do anything at the funeral. At the funeral service, Eddie unsuccessfully tries to push his way into the pallbearers' line but he's shooed away by Joy.
Later, he comforts a little boy who's an outsider like him. The boy's appreciative mother invites Eddie and Joy to her house and they find themselves beginning to get back into the good graces of their neighbors.
