'Til Death Episode 1.04 The Wood Pile

Joy pulls her car into the garage finds herself pinned in by Eddie's pile of scrap wood. Joy tells Eddie that the woodpile needs to go, either he builds something over the weekend, or she's tossing it.

Joy leaves for work and finds Eddie in the garage getting ready to start a project. Eddie tells Joy that he plans to build a Jacuzzi and sends Joy on her way.

Eddie fights with a saw while trying to cut a thick piece of wood when Jeff Woodcock walks in. Jeff asks Eddie what he's building but Eddie doesn't know. Eddie admits that he's not the master craftsman he proclaims to be. Jeff tells Eddie just to throw the wood out, but that would be letting Joy win. Eddie and Jeff decide to build something together.

Hours later, Eddie and Jeff have built a crude bookshelf. The two are bloodied and dirty. When they lift the shelf, it's clearly a disaster. When they lay the shelf down, it falls to pieces. Steph brings the men lemonade and admits to being a great woodworker.

When Joy returns home, she's anxious to see what Eddie created. He surprises her with a flat, wooden pig. Joy is unimpressed and tells Eddie they're getting rid of the wood.

Eddie comes home later to see the woodpile is gone.

Eddie sits on the couch watching TV when Greg walks in. Greg was hired by Joy to do all the things with wood that Eddie can't. Eddie defends to Greg that he's a man's man, but Greg doesn't care.

Eddie sits at the dinning room table, moping about Greg taking his spot and the woodpile being thrown out. Eddie tells Joy that he didn't make the pig, Steph did.

Joy goes to the Woodcock's and tells Steph to take the pig back. She puts the pig in a closet with Jeff's kayak. Joy asks how many times Jeff has gone kayaking, and Steph says never. Steph knows Jeff will never kayak, but throwing away the kayak is like taking away part of the man Jeff wants to be.

Eddie sits in the garage where the woodpile used to be. Joy returns home and tries to donate a piece of wood to a new woodpile. Eddie doesn't want it. Joy offers Eddie a brand new saw and tells Eddie that he just didn't have the right tools to build something.
