AceShowbiz - Following the devastating Pacific Palisades fires, an apocalyptic blaze named the Kenneth Fire has sparked chaos in Los Angeles, leading to mass evacuations in areas like Calabasas and Hidden Hills, home to the Kardashians. The fast-moving wildfire is now under investigation for arson, with one suspect arrested, according to LAPD.
Reality star Khloe Kardashian did not hold back her anger upon learning of the arrest. She took to her Instagram Stories, sharing a post about the arsonist and writing, "You sick mother f**kers! What the f**k is wrong with people?!?! Arson!!!! May you be fully prosecuted!!! What scum!!!"
Khloe has not only voiced their outrage at the arsonist but has also criticized the city's handling of the emergency. Khloe shared posts highlighting budget cuts to the Los Angeles Fire Department, which have reportedly hampered their ability to respond effectively to the wildfires.
A notice from the LA Fire Chief warned Mayor Karen Bass that the $17+ million cut had "severely limited the department's capacity to prepare for, train for, and respond to large-scale emergencies, including wildfires."
Meanwhile, in a commendable act of support, the Kardashian family has funded $2,500 worth of meals for first responders. Carousel Restaurant, a Kardashian favorite, delivered these meals, showcasing happy firefighters with boxes of food.
"We proudly delivered meals to several fire stations today. Thank you to the frontline members for your dedication to your communities," the restaurant posted on Instagram.
As the Kenneth Fire rages, other stars like Henry Winkler and Chris Brown also reacted to the news that the catastrophic wildfires were intentionally lit. Winkler wrote on X/Twitter, "THERE IS an ARSONIST here in LA. May you be beaten you unrecognizable !!! The pain you have caused!!!" After a suspected arsonist had been arrested, Winkler updated his initial post, adding, "One in custody so far."
Chris Brown chimed in on his own page as well, "Someone starting these fires. S**t don't add up." TV personality Elizabeth Chambers, who was previously married to Armie Hammer, also suspected that "this is a lot more than nature."
"What we know right now is that the incident occurred, started here, and about 20 minutes, 30 minutes later, a suspect was detained over in the Woodland Hills area by citizens," the authority said.
While other major fires were also being investigated by arson squad, this does not confirm that arson is the cause. Fire officials mentioned that "there's no way to know at this moment exactly where and how the series of fires started, but an investigation is underway."
Amid the chaos, the city is also facing looters. Law enforcement sternly warned anyone found roaming around wildfire evacuation zones could face misdemeanor charges and, if caught, would face felony charges. More than a dozen people have been arrested for allegedly preying on the affected area once home to the Hollywood rich.
At least 10 people have perished, and over 34,000 acres have been consumed by the fires enveloping Los Angeles. Despite robust firefighting efforts, containment remains challenging amid dry conditions and fierce winds.
As Los Angeles battles these devastating fires, the courage of first responders and the support from the community highlight the resilience and unity in times of crisis, amid heated debates and high-profile reactions.
