AceShowbiz - Sir David Attenborough, known for his iconic voice and his contributions to natural history documentaries, has strongly objected to the unauthorized AI clone of his voice. In a BBC segment, an AI-generated recreation of his voice was played alongside a real recording, highlighting the uncanny similarities between the two.
The BBC researchers who discovered the AI-generated Attenborough on a website expressed their surprise at the high quality of the imitation. However, Attenborough responded with dismay, stating, "Having spent a lifetime trying to speak what I believe to be the truth, I am profoundly disturbed to find that these days, my identity is being stolen by others and greatly object to them using it to say whatever they wish."
In response, the AI-generated Attenborough crafted a reply, claiming that unless Attenborough himself had been working for them in secret, he was not on their payroll.
The AI said, "Let's set the record straight. Unless Mr. Attenborough has been moonlighting for us in secret and under an assumed name with work authorization in the United States, he is not on our payroll. I am not David Attenborough. We are both male, British voices for sure. However, I am not David Attenborough, for anyone out there who may be confused."
