AceShowbiz - Jessica Alba recently brought her father, Mark Alba, to tears with an extraordinary surprise - she bought and began renovating his childhood home. The 43-year-old entrepreneur and actress took to her YouTube channel to share the first part of her web series "Honest Renovations," where she reveals the touching gift to her parents.
In the 10-minute video, Jessica leads her father to the construction site, the same home where he was raised. Mark was visibly emotional as he embraced his daughter and the construction crew, eventually breaking into tears.
Jessica said to him, "Now the house that you grew up in, dad, is yours." Mark, overwhelmed with gratitude, remarked that his own father - Jessica's grandfather - would be immensely proud of her.
Jessica's endeavor to buy and renovate the house was significantly motivated by a desire to honor her grandfather's legacy. Though he recently passed away, she infused elements reminiscent of him throughout the house. The home symbolizes the achievements her grandfather made and the opportunities he provided for his children, which Jessica wanted to preserve.
Before the big reveal, Jessica and the crew, accompanied by her best friend and "Honest Renovations" co-host Lizzy Mathis, toured the house with Mark. During the walk-through, Mark reminisced about growing up in the house since 1972 before he got married. The renovation process included Jessica and Lizzy participating in the demolition, adding a personal and hands-on touch to the project.
Jessica's professional life has also seen a significant shift. Back in April, she announced stepping down from her role as Chief Creative Officer of The Honest Company, which she founded 12 years ago.
While she continues to offer strategic advice as a board member, this transition marks a "rebirth" into a new phase for her. Jessica expressed excitement about her future endeavors, including her production company and the success of her debut film "Trigger Warning" on Netflix.
Currently, Jessica stars in the second season of "Honest Renovations," streaming for free on the Roku app. As she navigates these new chapters of her life, Jessica continues to inspire with her commitment to family and her ability to balance creative ventures with heartfelt personal projects.
