Before amassing his current fortune, the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' actor had to come to terms with financial realities far removed from his early Hollywood fantasies.

AceShowbiz - During an appearance on SiriusXM's "Sway in the Morning", Chris Pratt opened up about his experience with financial literacy and the moment he felt like he "made it."

When asked if his humble beginnings influenced his spending habits after hitting it big, Pratt admitted, "No!" He explained that he initially believed his money would never run out. "The first paycheck I got, I was like, 'Are you serious?' " he recalled with a laugh.

"I got paid $75,000 for a TV movie," Pratt continued. "I was like, 'I'm never gonna wait again. F**k you, b***hes, I am leaving.' " However, within two months, he was left wondering, "Where'd that money go?!"

Despite his initial financial ignorance due to growing up without much, Pratt emphasized the importance of learning about financial literacy later in life. "I didn't know what to do with money. It was like, it would come in, I would spend it," he said. "It took a while for me to realize I needed a plan."

Pratt went on to describe other moments that gave him a sense of accomplishment, including landing a Carl's Jr. TV commercial, getting his SAG card, and finding a talent representative. However, his most significant milestone was purchasing a house for his mother after his role on "Everwood".

Pratt's financial journey serves as a reminder that even those who achieve great success can struggle with managing their finances. His experiences underscore the value of financial education and the importance of seeking guidance from professionals.
