On the same day, an Instagram account named CheckTheTag posted a poll encouraging users to approve or disapprove of Chloe's outfit when gracing the red carpet at "Megalopolis" premiere. Catching wind of the post, the actress/comedian hit back at the critics in the comments section, writing, "No need to be so mean! Thank you."

For the occasion in the South of France, Chloe wore a sparkling, strapless red dress by Celine that featured a knot detail around the chest. She paired the gown, which is a creation by Hedi Slimane, with Cartier jewelry.

Internet users had mixed responses to Chloe's look at the event. "These picture are weird. Her head looks too big for her body or something," one user commented. Another noted, "This dress is giving us nothing." Similarly, someone else added, "She's a very beautiful woman, but this makes her look like a bobble head."

Someone, however, defended Chloe. "Comments about her weight and body are gross, I don't see any of you showing up on posts about plus size women commenting on their weight fluctuations," the fan said. "I like this!!! Prior to the event, Chloe took to Instagram Stories to share a hand-written note sent to her by the dress' designer. "Dear Chloe, Welcome to Cannes!" the card read. "We are so happy to see you wearing CELINE in Cannes. Wishing you a lovely Cannes Film Festival. Warm wishes, the CELINE team."
