The 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star recalls via social media her harrowing experience caused by the 4.8 magnitude earthquake that recently shook the Tri-State area.

AceShowbiz - Amidst the widespread shock caused by the 4.8 magnitude earthquake that shook the Tri-State area on Friday, "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Melissa Gorga recounted her harrowing experience.

Initially alone in her home with only her dog, Gorga was in her Franklin Lakes, New Jersey mansion when the ground began trembling beneath her feet. Fear surged through her as the sound of a stampede filled the air. "I have weights in my hands, and I was like, 'What is happening?' It sounded like my roof was shaking, the floor was shaking," she recalled.

The panic intensified when Gorga received a notification that her front door was open. Having mistakenly attributed the shaking to a supernatural presence, she thought a ghost or intruder might have entered the house. "I was freaking out... and I'm like, 'Wow! Like, I've never experienced a ghost before, like, maybe that was a ghost,' " she said.

In a moment of desperation, Gorga dialed 911. She frantically ran upstairs, screams filling the house. "I am screaming. I'm running up the stairs. I have 911 ready to push," she described.

However, after receiving messages from employees of her Envy boutique who reported similar experiences, Gorga realized the true nature of the event. "So it's not a ghost, that was an earthquake," she said with relief.

Gorga's husband, Joe, reached out to check on her, while her daughter Antonia found humor in her mother's reaction. The earthquake left Gorga shaken, and she shared her ordeal on Instagram, where she posted a photo from inside her home and described the chaos.

The earthquake, centered near Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, was the largest to hit the Tri-State area since 1973. Many celebrities took to social media to express their disbelief and share their experiences, including Al Roker, Hilarie Burton, Rachel Zegler and the Empire State Building.
