AceShowbiz - Grimes has responded to Elon Musk's parental rights lawsuit in Texas. The "Genesis" singer, who shares three kids with the billionaire, requested a judge in the case to dismiss her ex's petition.
In a filing from earlier this month, the 35-year-old claimed she, along with her two children, Tau Techno Mechanicus and Exa Dark Sideræl, had moved to California "on or about" December 31, 2022. It's contrary to Elon's claim saying that the family had lived in the same house in Texas from May until July of this year.
Grimes alleged that Elon spends a great deal of time on the West Coast, noting that he is there between two and three days a week. The SpaceX founder is in Austin, Texas about 46 percent of the time.
Grimes said she was served with Elon's legal papers in Los Angeles and that she personally "had and continues to have no continuing, systematic or minimum contacts with Texas." Thus, she asked the Texas court to "dismiss these proceedings."
"The court's assumption of jurisdiction in this proceeding is inappropriate due to the specific facts and circumstances of the parties to this suit, and would offend traditional notions of fair play and substantial justice," the musician stated.
In September, Grimes filed a lawsuit against Elon for parental rights to their children. The request aims at having the court identify the legal parents of a child when they were not married.
The move comes weeks after Grimes - whose real name is Claire Boucher - hinted there were problems between her and both Elon and Shivon Zilis, the mother of the billionaire's 19-month-old twins. "Tell Shivon to unblock me and tell Elon to let me see my son or plz respond to my lawyer (sic)," she wrote in a now-deleted post shared to X.
