Julia Quinn is heartbroken as she announces that her beloved father Steve and sister Violet died in a fatal car accident following a collision with a drunk driver.

AceShowbiz - The author behind the "Bridgerton" books has lost her father and sister in a horror car crash.
Julia Quinn has announced the tragic news via Facebook, revealing her sister Violet and their dad were killed in a collision with a drunk driver.
"I have lost my father and my sister. Because a catering company did not secure their load and canvas bags spilled onto the highway," she wrote on Thursday (08Jul21). "Because a pickup driver thought nothing of driving while his blood alcohol level was nearly 3 times the legal limit. I have lost my father, and I don't have my sister with whom to grieve."
"I have lost my sister Violet Charles Comics, with whom I had just finished writing a graphic novel. It was dedicated to our father. It will still be dedicated to our father. It won't be a surprise anymore, but I'd like to think he suspected we'd do it. He knew us so well. He was our dad."
Violet's service dog Michelle also perished in the fatal crash.
Condolences and prayers poured in from fellow authors and Hollywood figures for Julia Quinn and her grieving family.
Fellow author Christina Lauren wrote, "Oh Julia, honey. Our hearts are broken for you. We are so sorry." Another writer Jasmine Guillory penned, "Oh Julia. Oh my God. I am so so sorry. Sending love and prayers to you and your family."
Actor Ben Miller left a similar comment on her Instagram post, "Julia my heart goes out to you."
"Bridgerton" producer Julie Anne Robinson also posted, "I'm so sorry."
