The manager of Britney Spears' conservatorship blasts Jamie Spears for blaming his daughter's suffering on her, suggesting he knew because all expenditures had to go through him.

AceShowbiz - The woman in charge of Britney Spears' conservatorship has blasted claims she's in full control of the singer's life.

Responding to legal documents filed by Jamie Spears' lawyers on Wednesday (30Jun21), conservator manager Jodi Montgomery has issued a statement via her attorney, in which she strongly denies she is solely to blame for the pop star's suffering.

According to Montgomery's lawyer, all decisions about the "Toxic" singer's finances were all personally approved or denied by Jamie, People reports.

"No expenditures can happen without going through Mr. Spears and Mr. Spears approving them," Montgomery's statement read. "Ms. Montgomery has advocated on Britney's behalf for any expenditures that Britney has requested, as well as for expenditures recommended by Britney's medical team."

"Not every requested expenditure has been approved. Jamie Spears, as conservator of the estate, has a duty to make decisions in the best interests of the estate, and sometimes that has meant requested expenditures have been denied or limited."

In his filing, Jamie insisted he had no involvement in the day-to-day decisions affecting his daughter, who stunned fans when she spoke out about her conservatorship during a court hearing last week (23Jun21).

Responding to the singer's emotional testimony that she had been prevented from having more children and not allowed to remove an IUD contraceptive device, Montgomery's camp claims, "Britney's choice to marry and to start a family have never been impacted by the conservatorship while Ms. Montgomery has been conservator of the person."

The statement further suggests Montgomery is working on a "comprehensive Care Plan to the Court setting forth a path for termination of the conservatorship."

As stated by the judge during the hearing last week, Spears still needs to file a formal motion to end the legal arrangement, which has been in place since 2008.
