During an appearance on 'Good Morning America', the 'Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard' actress admits to make the video after the film's publicity team asked her to market it via social media.

AceShowbiz - Salma Hayek's viral Britney Spears dance routine she recently posted online to promote her new film was a happy mistake that came together in minutes.

The Mexican actress admits she didn't quite understand what she had to do when "The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" publicity team asked her to market the film with an Instagram video and she gathered friends and relatives and asked them to choreograph a dance routine with her to Britney's "Hit Me Baby (One More Time)'.

The sequence has since become a huge hit online and Salma admits she can't believe people are raving about something that came together so quickly.

"It's a good mistake," she told "Good Morning America". "I got sent out of the blue new requests from Lionsgate [film studio]... and in one of them, we couldn't understand, it said something about..., 'You have to do a challenge with the Britney [song]'."

So the star called on her hair and makeup artists and the son of a visiting friend to help her come up with a passable dance routine.

She shared, "Within five minutes we did the choreography and we made Miguel, my hairdresser, take his shirt off, so in case we were really bad, there would be some distraction... I'm not even dressed. I was in my sweats."

Lionsgate bosses clearly weren't that impressed and they decided they didn't need the footage, but Salma posted it on Instagram anyway.

The dance routine did, however, impress her co-star Ryan Reynolds, who quipped, "The round-house high kick [you do], I would only do that in the lobby of a hospital, so I could receive top-notch medical attention."
