In a new magazine interview, the reality TV star also admits, 'I feel like I have a duty to myself and to my children more than the public and I want to be a good role model for my kids.'

AceShowbiz - It's not a secret anymore that Kim Kardashian has been working hard about prison and justice reform in the United States, and she unsurprisingly doesn't do it without a reason. In an interview for Carine Roitfeld's CR Fashion Book's upcoming issue, the makeup mogul credits her four kids for inspiring her to pursue a career in law.

"I'm raising four black kids in this society and our system is so discriminatory against black and brown people. I want to as much as I can to make their lives easier...I never knew much about the system until I started to dig in," Kim says, per PEOPLE. "And once I learned and saw how many things were wrong, I really couldn't stop."

The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star continued, "My evolution on this is probably some combination of growing up, getting married, having kids and my life being so different than what it was when I was starting out. Now I feel like I have a duty to myself and to my children more than the public and I want to be a good role model for my kids."

In order to achieve her dream, Kim, who is a mother to six-year-old North, four-year-old Saint, two-year-old Chicago and 10-month-old Psalm, works daily on her law studies for a total of 20 hours per week and just completed her first year of a four-year apprenticeship program in California. The wife of Kanye West is now hoping to take the bar exam in 2022.

With the amount of time she needs to spend to study, and not including her daily work as a businesswoman, Kim naturally finds it hard to balance time with her loved ones. She previously said of this issue, "There are times when I can be frustrated, up studying really late and wonder how [my late father] did it. Having four kids... [he] must have been going through some of the same things that I have gone through so it would have been exciting to talk to him about that. I know that he would be so, so proud."
