It's not clear what sparked Bow Wow's outburst, and it is said that cops were called.

AceShowbiz - Police were called to the set of rapper/actor Bow Wow's reality show on Thursday, August 30 after he reportedly lost his temper and damaged pricey camera equipment.

The hip-hop star had been filming scenes for Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta while attending a party for fellow rapper Da Brat at the Westside Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia, where he is said to have thrown a tantrum.

Sources tell TMZ the 31 year old, real name Shad Moss, lashed out at set gear and three cameras, and when people tried to restrain him, he turned on them, too.

It's not clear what sparked Bow Wow's outburst, and although cops were called, it appears no legal action was taken.

The former child star appeared to hint at the incident in a Twitter post on Thursday, writing, "They tryna break me down yall ... (sic)," while he also took to his Instagram Story timeline to chastise those who had contacted him over the reports.

"Stop f**king over reacting and stop with the sympathy text to my (phone) (sic)," he posted. "yall are not therapist so stop acting like one (sic). I got this. Thanks."

Bow Wow also uploaded a series of captionless graphics of a heart monitor machine on Instagram, and followed it up with a blurred image of a person lying lifeless on the ground, before adding another black and red graphic depicting a broken heart held together with a bandage.

It was simply captioned, "Broken".

The news emerges days after Bow Wow suggested his girlfriend Kiyomi Leslie had suffered a miscarriage as he poured out his personal troubles in a now-deleted tweet.

"Don't really care. The media crucifies me. I'm the most hated," he wrote last week, ends August 24. "Every girl I gave my heart to it failed. My dad is a alcoholic and is now sick. I lost my son this year.

"I'm over everything. Mentally I feel detached I'm in so much pain bro...(sic)".

Bow Wow, who has a seven-year-old daughter named Shai with an ex, has yet to elaborate on his personal struggles.
