The black-and-white clip features fan-shot footage of Tom Petty and his band The Heartbreakers.

AceShowbiz - A new video featuring fan-shot clips of Tom Petty and his band The Heartbreakers has been released to accompany the late rocker's new single You and Me (Clubhouse Version).

Petty's widow Dana and his daughter Adria asked fans to submit photos and videos of the late star and his bandmates for a new promo ahead of the release of box set An American Treasure, and they stepped up in droves.

The family and Petty's longtime bandmates Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench, who appear in the video, waded through thousands of snaps taken of Petty and footage shot at gigs and the best submissions appear in the sweet new film.

The promo also features clips of fans at the rocker's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and never-before-seen home movie images of Petty with his kids.

The video ends with Tench playing the piano alone in the studio and the message, "Brought to you by you".

You and Me appeared on Petty's 2002 album The Last DJ, but the new stripped-down version of the track was recorded in 2007 and never released.

It's one of the rare songs that will appear on the new box set, which is scheduled for release on 28 September, days before the first anniversary of Petty's death.
