The rapper trio are scheduled to pick up the trophy during the ceremony on June 21 in Los Angeles.

AceShowbiz - Hip-hop stars Migos are set to be honoured with the Vanguard Award at the annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards.

The MotorSport hitmakers, who hail from Atlanta, Georgia, will be celebrated by officials at the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) for the impact they've had on the urban music industry in the past year.

Bandmembers Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff will pick up the accolade at the organisation's Los Angeles ceremony on 21 June.

"From their peerless triplet-based raps to bringing the dab (dance move) to pop culture, Migos have been one of the most influential acts in hip-hop," ASCAP President Paul Williams shared in a statement.

"After breaking out with Versace in 2013, Offset, Quavo and Takeoff proved that they could bring their trap style to the top of the charts. Their inimitable chemistry transcends genre."

Migos will follow in the footsteps of previous Vanguard winners like Kendrick Lamar, Janelle Monae, and Santigold.
