The rap mogul 'vehemently' denies the allegations and claims that it 'had shocked me to my core as I have never been abusive or violent in any way in my relations with women.'

AceShowbiz - Hip-hop mogul and entrepreneur Russell Simmons is asking a judge to dismiss a rape claim against him. In his defence, Simmons insists that his accuser is just after his money.

The unnamed woman, one of 16 people who have made sexual assault allegations against the Def Jam Records co-founder, claims he raped her in a Sacramento, California hotel room after a concert in the city she attended with her young son. She is seeking $10 million in punitive damages for the "severe emotional distress" the alleged incident caused her.

Simmons has already released a statement, in which he "vehemently" denied the allegations against him. He insisted that they had "shocked me to my core as I have never been abusive or violent in any way in my relations with women." Now, he has filed papers urging lawmakers to toss the complaint.

In the documents obtained by TMZ, he insists the latest rape claims are "pure fiction" and nothing but an attempt "to extort large sums of money from Mr. Simmons and for her lawyer to try to make a name for himself."

The rap mogul also recently fired back at allegations he raped a filmmaker at his home in Los Angeles, insisting she's also simply seeking a cash grab.

Jennifer Jarosik claims she was assaulted by Simmons in 2016 after he agreed to let her interview him at his home for a documentary she was working on. She has accused Simmons of pouncing on her and raping her when she refused to have sex with him.

Jarosik decided to go public with her story after other women began coming forward with similar stories about alleged encounters with Simmons, and is now asking for $5 million in damages.

Simmons has admitted he and Jarosik had a casual relationship that occasionally involved sex over the course of a decade, insisting all intimacy was consensual. He claims Jarosik decided to see "if she could extract large amounts of money" from him after "hearing that women were able to recover money for real abuse by sexual predators".
