Kat Stacks, a woman who used to date Yung Mazi for a year, tweeted, 'His friends just called me and told me they killed Mazi 1 hour ago at the gas station.'

AceShowbiz - Atlanta-based rapper Yung Mazi was shot and killed by an unidentified gunman on Sunday evening, August 6 in the Kirkwood neighborhood of Atlanta. The 31-year-old was fatally shot at around 9.30 P.M. outside Urban Pie pizza restaurant.

He was shot several times and died on the scene after paramedics arrived. Cops didn't disclose his identity but confirmed that a 31-year-old male died in the area after sustaining wounds from the gunshot. Officials revealed that no suspects are in custody, while the investigation is currently underway.

While police haven't got any suspects, Mazi's ex-girlfriend, Kat Stacks, took to Twitter to claim that Mazi's friends were behind the shooting which led to his death. Stacks, who "used to live and sleep" with Mazi for a year, wrote on her Twitter account, "Get out of my comment you dumb f**king s**t b***hes !!!! His friends just called me & told me they killed Mazi 1 hour ago at the gas station."

Law officials reportedly believed that Mazi was targeted following the rapper's claim that "God made [him] bulletproof." Mazi, whose real name was Jabril Abdur-Rahman, survived a gunshot attack outside of Buckhead Waffle House in December 2016 and other 9 shootings.

In an interview, Mazi, who was known for collaborations with Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug, said that he was targeted due to his skin color, rising fame and wearing up to a quarter-million dollars of jewelry at a time. "Look at me, for one... I'm a [light-skinned] dude, people always don't like the [light-skinned] dude for some reason. And then, I might walk around with a quarter-million dollars worth of jewelry on," he said.
