"Dumbo" has kicked production, and Disney offered a teaser for fans at D23 Expo in Anaheim, California over the weekend. A life-size 3D model of the big-eared, blue-eyed elephant was showcased at the event to give an idea of what the titular hero would look like in the live-action film.

Director Tim Burton sent a video greeting from the set at Pinewood and Cardington Studios in U.K. The helmer called the 1941 animated classic one of his favorite Disney movies. "We are working to give this all the heart and emotion [of the original]," so he said.

The movie is supported by Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny Devito, Eva Green, Nico Parker and Finley Hobbins. It is coming out in theaters across the United States on March 29, 2019. An on-set picture showing the director sitting on a train was released as well.
