VIXX just celebrated their fifth anniversary on Thursday, May 24, but member Ken was swept up in a controversy. The "Fool" singer was caught writing several curse words in a video released in celebration of the group's anniversary.
Jellyfish Entertainment, VIXX's agency, uploaded a special video on YouTube, but deleted it shortly after people noticed that Ken wrote the inappropriate words on his sketchbook during the filming. The words read, "You f***ing b****rd, why are you hitting me you f***ing b***h."
Fans deemed his action inappropriate and immature as they expressed their disappointment in an article on Nate. "The fact that he thought it was okay to even write that means he talks like that in daily life. As an idol he should know how to manage his image," a commenter wrote. "There are idols who have good personality but I do think there are a lot of them who are complete thugs," another commented.
Following the backlash, Jellyfish released an official statement on Friday, May 25. "Inappropriate words were aired on 'VIXX Company'," the statement read. "We are sorry for causing a controversy. No matter what the situation is, inappropriate words are wrong. We have deleted the clip and will be taking action so the video does not spread."
However, fans didn't think that the problem could be solved by a simple apology, especially since Ken didn't personally apologize. "He didn't apologize, his agency did," a commenter wrote. "The show was recorded for their 5th anniversary, how lightly did he think of it that he acted like that? Apologizing doesn't change who you are," another said.
