We may not see Jimmy Kimmel again once his contract for "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" expires in fall 2019. The host is reportedly contemplating a retirement from his late-night TV show career.

In an interview with Variety, the 49-year-old entertainer revealed his concern. Although he ensured he "will do the show for another three years," he still doesn't know what's beyond his almost two decades of career as an ABC host.

"It's possible that will be it. My wife's pregnant. At a certain point, I'd like to have a little more free time," he told the publication. He further opened up, "I have very little free time as it is."

Kimmel dedicates almost most of his time for the show. As the executive producer, he arrives in his Hollywood studios at 9 A.M., films at around 5 P.M. before returning to his computer after dinner. He said, "I think this job is a grind, and best-cast scenario, a marathon." Kimmel continued, "I want to go out on my own terms. If I ever feel like we're repeating ourselves, I think it's a good indication that it's time."

Kimmel admitted that he would indeed "miss it" when time came for him to leave the show. However, Kimmel said his next career "won't be for another late-night vehicles." He explained, "If there's something that excites me creatively, it doesn't necessarily mean something in show business." The host continued, "I like to draw. I like to make sculptures. I'd like to write a book at some point. Doing the show every day doesn't leave a lot of time for that."

Jimmy Kimmel is set to host the 89th Annual Academy Awards which will broadcast live on ABC on Sunday, February 26. They will air the pre-show at 7 P.M. ET while the ceremony will start at 8.30 P.M. ET.
