"The Walking Dead" has just featured one of the iconic moments from the comics. As teased in a previously released photo and clip, [SPOILER ALERT!] Carl removed his eyepatch after he arrived at the Sanctuary, killed some of the Saviors and got caught by Negan.

Instead of killing Carl, Negan tortured Carl by making him show the gaping hole where his eye once was. Meanwhile, Jesus who also rode in the back of the Savior truck to the Sanctuary somehow disappeared from the truck when it's about to leave the Sanctuary.

In a preview for the next episode, Negan pays a second visit to Alexandria. He finally shaves his beard to resemble the character's look in the comics. He brings Carl with him, only to further torture Rick's son by making him and Judith sit down with him during an awkward lunch. In another sneak peek, Olivia is sobbing as Tara helps her prepare for the lunch.

Meanwhile, Daryl is seen on his escape route after someone unlocked the door of his cell and left a note. Michonne has a hostage as she attempts to head to the Sanctuary while Negan isn't home. At the Kingdom, Richard plans a move, possibly against Negan, as he tells Morgan, "We don't do something now, things will go bad. And when he do, we'll lose everything."

Titled "Hearts Still Beating", the midseason finale of "The Walking Dead" airs Sunday, December 11 at 9/8c on AMC. According to the official description of the episode, "Negan's unwelcome visit to Alexandria continues as other members scavenge for supplies; things quickly spin out of control."
