'The Walking Dead' 7.03 Sneak Peeks: Daryl in Torture
TV

Daryl doesn't look good as he's held prisoner by Negan, while how the Savior leader treats his members is revealed.

AceShowbiz - After the explosive season premiere, the second episode of "The Walking Dead" season 7 is way more laid back. It introduces the Kingdom and its leader Ezekiel as well as his pet tiger Shiva. We learn more about the community through Carol, who wakes up in the new place after he's saved by Morgan.

[SPOILER ALERT!] We see the peaceful life of the Kingdom people, the deal that Ezekiel made with the Saviors and how Ezekiel keeps it a secret from his people because he doesn't want to spill blood. When Carol tries to leave the place, she's caught by Ezekiel who then opens up about he ends up being hailed a king.

Carol still insists to leave, but it turns out that Carol's little new house is just outside of The Kingdom. While stoking a fire in the fireplace, Ezekiel visits her and brings her an apple, telling her, "You really gotta try one of these."

Speaking of Ezekiel's act at the end of the episode, executive producer Greg Nicotero explains what it means, "The fact that Ezekiel shows up at the end, to me, it's just a sort of a peace offering. She hears the roar of the tiger at the door and opens it and he's got the pomegranates there. I think it's Ezekiel's way of saying, 'Listen, you need to choose life because there's no reason to go on living if you're not gonna embrace humanity.' "

Asked whether there's a possible love connection between the two, he tells EW, "I think he admires her and respects her and I think she admires and respects him as well. Because he gets her and she understands what he's trying to do. She thinks it's a little ridiculous what he's doing, but there's respect."

While the second episode focuses on the Kingdom, we will catch up with Negan and Daryl, who is kept prisoner by Negan, in the Sanctuary in next week's episode. In a preview for the upcoming outing, Dwight tortures Daryl by forcing him to watch two men fending off walkers outside the gate, but Negan says, "You don't scare easy."

We also get a glimpse of how Negan runs the community with oppression. Meanwhile, a woman warns someone unseen, "Go back while you can. Whatever he's done, there's more."

"The Cell" airs Sunday, November 6 at 9/8c on FX. According to the official synopsis, "a new group of survivors seem to have it all in their impressive community; however, there is a price."
