The first teaser for Netflix's adaptation of the best-selling novels features Lemony Snicket (Patrick Warburton) warning potential viewers about the 'unnerving' story of the Baudelaire orphans.

Netflix has released the first teaser for its adaptation of Lemony Snicket's "A Series of Unfortunate Events". But instead of trying to entice viewers, the video tries to convince you not to watch the new series altogether.
Lemony Snicket (Patrick Warburton) is featured in the teaser, walking through the dimly-let set as he warns you about the "so upsetting and so utterly unnerving" story of the Baudelaire orphans that has caused the entire crew to suffer "from low moral-a phrase which here means 'currently under observation for mencholia, ennui, and acute wistfulness.' "
"So please, don't make the same mistake Netflix has and look away before this dire tale is even filmed and avoid the cruel whimsy and whimsical cruelty of what's to come," he begs. But not everyone is as affected as Snicket claims as Neil Patrick Harris' Count Olaf can be heard bellowing in the distance, "Joy, joy, happiness! My fortune's about to change."
But if you insist to watch "A Series of Unfortunate Events", it will arrive Friday, January 13, 2017 on Netflix. The series also stars Aasif Mandvi as Uncle Monty, Malina Weissman as Violet and Louis Hyne as Klaus.
The story revolves around three orphaned kids, Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire, who face trials and tribulations at the hands of the evil Count Olaf, a distant uncle, as they try to uncover the secret of their parents' death. Barry Sonnenfeld is directing the drama series.
