ABC unveiled its fall 2016-2017 schedule on Tuesday, May 17, the same day it held its upfront presentation. Most of the returning shows keep their current slots, but "Scandal" is noticeably missing from the Shondaland #TGIT line-up. The show is bumped to midseason to accommodate leading lady Kerry Washington's pregnancy.
To fill the vacant slot at 9 P.M., new drama "Notorious" will join "Grey's Anatomy" and "How to Get Away with Murder" on Thursdays. "Scandal" will likely return to its regular slot in midseason, while another Shondaland series "The Catch", which is also scheduled for midseason, will likely land on another day.
The schedule includes other new series that replace the recently canceled ones. On Mondays, Hayley Atwell's new drama "Conviction" replaces "Castle" at 10 P.M. Kiefer Sutherland's "Designated Survivor" will fill the Thursday at 10 P.M. slot which previously belonged to "Nashville".
Other freshman series like "Time After Time", comedy "Downward Dog" and drama fantasy "Imaginary Mary" are held for midseason.
