Val Kilmer Teases His Possible Return for 'Top Gun 2'
Movie

The actor who played Iceman in the original movie announces that he has just got an offer to return for a sequel.

AceShowbiz - Val Kilmer will return to the long-delayed sequel to Tom Cruise's "Top Gun". The former Batman depicter broke the news on Facebook, "I just got offered ‪#‎topgun2‬ - not often you get to say 'yes' without reading the script..."

He then paid tribute to the original director who died in 2012, "We will all miss Tony Scott one of the kindest gentlemen I've ever met in the film biz, but let's fire up some fighter jets again!!!" He added, "This is a long way off so calm down."

"This has been talked about for a long long time and being offered a role is very different from doing a role. I jumped the gun with my post. I jumped the topgun... An innocent mistake. It was just such a wonderful phone call with my agent..."

Tom Cruise is expected to reprise his role as Maverick in "Top Gun 2" and Val Kilmer as his rival from the first movie, LT Tom "Iceman" Kazanski. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer once said, "The concept is, basically, are the pilots obsolete because of drones? [Maverick] is going to show them that they're not obsolete. They're here to stay."
