Disney's "The Jungle Book" releases a teaser ahead of the first official trailer this coming Monday, September 14. It takes fans into the jungle, journeying through the trees before showing a glimpse at Neel Sethi's Mowgli standing alone in the middle of the wilderness.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the new take on Rudyard Kipling's classic tale is scheduled to make its way out in the United States on April 15, 2016. It's supported by Scarlett Johansson (Kaa the python), Ben Kingsley (Bagheera the panther), Idris Elba (Shere Khan the tiger), Bill Murray (Baloo the bear), Christopher Walken (King Louie the orangutan), and Lupita Nyong'o (Raksha the mother wolf).

A rival project titled "Jungle Book: Origins" is being developed at Warner Brothers. Andy Serkis will serve as a director and will voice Baloo. He joins Benedict Cumberbatch as Shere Khan, Christian Bale as Bagheera, Cate Blanchett as Kaa, and Naomie Harris as Raksha. It's due on October 6, 2017.
