Fox is developing a drama series based on Peter Facinelli's graphic novel "Protocol Orphans", Deadline reports. Amanda Segel ("Person of Interest") will rewrite the script for the TV adaptation of the BOOM! Studio's novel.

Amanda will also serve as executive producer of the project alongside BOOM! Founder and CEO Ross Richie, President of Development Stephen Christy and SVP Television Josh Levy. Peter, who co-created the graphic novel with Rob DeFranco, will serve as producer.

"Protocol Orphans", written by Michael Alan Nelson and drawn by Mariano Navarro, is about "a foster family of orphans who are trained by the US government as covert operatives, protecting their country during the day and battling each other at night."

Peter, who played Donovan "Van" Ray on the Fox series "Fastlane" from 2002 to 2003 and Edward Cullen's father Dr. Carlisle Cullen in "Twilight" film series, most recently starred on NBC's thriller series "American Odyssey" alongside Anna Friel. The series were canceled after one season.
