Kim Allen ("Army Wives", "The Carrie Diaries") has signed up to portray Jackie Kennedy, John F. Kennedy's beloved wive in "LBJ", Deadline reports. The 33-year-old actress stars in the movie alongside Woody Harrelson who portrays Lyndon B. Johnson as well as Bill Pullman and Richard Jenkins who both play politicians.

Lyndon assumed a position as the 36th President of the United States in the wake of president John F. Kennedy assassination in 1963. When John was shot and killed in Dallas, Jackie was in the car sitting next to him. Jackie was a prominent figure and she was revered by the nation for her show of strength after her husband's death.

"LBJ" is being produced by several studios which team up for the movie. Matthew George is producing alongside Reiner, Liz Glotzer, Michael R. Williams, Tim White and Trevor White while Martin Shafer, Elizabeth A. Bell, Danny Roth, Damiano Tucci, Michael Tadross Jr., Chris Conover and Julie May serve as executive producers.

Filming will begin in September in New Orleans, Dallas and Washington D.C. The movie will be released in the U.S. in 2016.
