The original movie adapted from a 1960s television series of the same name came out in 1993 with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones as the lead actors. It follows a doctor who is wrongfully accused of his wife's murder and is running for his life as he tries to prove his innocence.

The movie was both a commercial and critical success. Jones won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor and went on to reprise his role in a 1998 sequel "U.S. Marshals". A TV remake was also made in 2000 with Tim Daly and Mykelti Williamson but it's canceled after one season.
