It has been made official that Michelle MacLaren is to direct "Wonder Woman". MacLaren has been the frontrunner to tackle the big screen version of the DC Comics character's story, meeting with Warner Bros. several times regarding the project earlier this month.

MacLaren was selected for her credits in "Game of Thrones", "The Walking Dead" and most of all "Breaking Bad". Her involvement in movie is not just ankle deep. Sources told THR that she would work with writers to put together a script for the movie.

WB's search for directors was focused on female although they also considered male ones. "Punisher: War Zone" director Lexi Alexander had heard about WB's top choice but would not give a name. She hinted, "If she says yes, everybody will be very happy, including me."

"Wonder Woman" stars Gal Gadot in the titular role. She will be introduced in 2016's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and make her debut in the stand-alone film in 2017.
